Summer (Scott) Bartczak, PhD, currently serves as the CEO of American Truck & Rail Audits, Inc. As such, she leads a multi-million dollar freight cost audit operation that delivers after-payment (post) audit services for over 150 clients including many Fortune 50/100/500 companies, pre-audit/pay services for smaller business customers, and a host of other freight-centered services to include contract negotiation, transportation consulting, and data mining/business intelligence. Summer has been with AMTR in various capacities since 2013. Her previous positions at the company included Chief Knowledge Officer and Chief Education & Innovation Officer.
Summer’s career has spanned the military, academic, and transportation/logistics/supply chain industries. Summer retired from the USAF (2007) as a Lt Col after 20+ years working in the areas of information & knowledge management and information systems. During her years in academia (2002-2017), she taught undergraduate and graduate programs in similar topic areas at the Air Force Institute of Technology and the University of Central Arkansas. Upon joining AMTR, she served in an advisory capacity to the CEO, as well as, led strategic planning, process improvement, education program development, and technology innovation efforts.
Summer is a member of the National Industrial Transportation League, the Transportation and Logistics Council, and the Association of Information Systems. She is an U.S. Air Force Academy graduate and completed her PhD in management & information systems at Auburn University. She has published in journals such as International Journal of Knowledge Management, Knowledge Management Research & Practice, Journal of Knowledge Management Practice, and Journal of Business and Educational Leadership to name a few.
